Hashtag of the Alternative for Germany party has entered the Twitter’s top thanks to the Russian marketer

Russian marketer Alexander has created a lot of buzz on the German Internet. During the elections in Germany, Twitter showed a high activity of bots supporting the Alternative for Germany party (AfD). Dozens of bots published content in support of the AfD on that social network.
Alexander was found thanks to the fact that one of the bots contacted his Vkontakte page through a counterfeit profile. Journalists from BuzzFeed News talked to Alexander and found out that he worked for a marketing company that consisted of 30 people. His main task was to promote the # AfD hashtag to the top of Twitter threads among Germans.
According to Alexander, he asked €2000 for the first 15000 posts and reposts, but eventually agreed to make a 50% discount. The deal has not been closed yet.
